Shake off the moody blues

It's that time of year again. The long dark nights and the dull weather. Are you spending more time indoors now? Is your home being strangled by clutter? Do you feel your world is coming in on top of you?

How about some de-cluttering for mood elevation? It’s amazing what de-cluttering your home can do for your mood! So start now before things really start to pile up. Your heart should skip a beat, not race with anxiety when you walk through your front door after a hard day in the office.

Here are some useful tips to get you started:

The obvious one and the one we are least likely going to embrace is, be ruthless! Keep some bin liners on-hand and don’t be afraid to throw things you no longer need away. Charities, like Oxfam, really need whatever you can give them so start thinking about ways to donate the things you no longer require. Ask yourself whether you really need it? How long has it been since you last put it on your back? Can you do without this item? Remember: the goal is to get rid of stuff, move on from the past and create a more functional home aka DECLUTTER!

Leave it at the front door

To avoid clutter spreading throughout your home, stop it at the front door. Invest in a console unit or put a basket at the front door to throw small items like mail, keys, sunglasses and loose change into it. But remember to clear it out every so often!

Lived-in

Keep your living room tidy and free from clutter. This is the room where you are most likely going to spend most of your time so make sure it is clear from distractions. Books, newspapers and mail are major living room clutter-culprits. Make sure you have a newspaper basket to recycle old newspaper.

Bedroom storage

We always go on about this, that’s because it’s the one thing our research tells us our customers are lacking: You can never have enough storage space in your bedroom!  Invest in some stylish Sliderobes units with lots of storage space. We have a huge range of wardrobe interiors to cater for your clothes and other items.  Winter clothes, especially bulky jumpers, scarves and knee boots take up so much space in our wardrobe and drawers, but by investing in some Sliderobes they can be stored away on top shelves.

Alternatively, purchase some baskets or storage boxes. They come in various sizes, shapes and materials. Think about where you’ll store them: on a shelving unit, on the floor or under your bed.

At Sliderobes we have an impressive, stylish collection of quality storage solutions in a range of styles, sizes, materials and colours to help you get your clutter under control, so make a start and visit a Sliderobes showroom today.

What are you waiting for? De-clutter today and enjoy your home!
