Fitted bedroom furniture specialist, Sliderobes, is celebrating a successful first year in new premises in Derry. Since relocating in January 2009 to Bay Road, Sliderobes has seen over 200% increase in turnover locally.
The general manager of the Derry showroom, Andrew Davies, reports that despite the economic downturn, business is booming. He believes that the effect of recession has been to focus attention onto home improvements.
“Where people can no longer move house, for whatever reason, they look to make the most of what they have. Creating the storage they need is a big part of that. We design and fit stylish space-saving wardrobes that work around sloping ceilings, chimney breasts and awkward features,” he said.
“Sliderobes is all about helping people who are tight on space to make the most of what they have in a cost-effective and practical way. Research shows that in hard times, people choose to invest in robust and reliable craftsman-built products like Sliderobes, rather than spend on cheap quick fixes,” he added.
Sliderobes was established in Ireland over 25 years ago, and today has showrooms across Ireland, England and Scotland. It has had a showroom in Derry since 2000.
