Fitted bedroom furniture company, Sliderobes, is launching a brand new showroom in Stockton in mid January with competitions, giveaways and a valuable donation to a local charity.

Sliderobes, which has more than 20 showrooms across the UK and Ireland, reports that despite the economic downturn, business is holding up well in its sector.

Visitors to the new showroom from the 15th to 18th of January can enter a free draw to win a fabulous Sliderobe, valued at £2000. All visitors to the showroom over the launch weekend will each take away a voucher worth £250 against an order placed in the first few months of opening.

Gary Shaw, general manager of the new showroom, on Portrack Trade Park, behind B&Q Portrack Lane, says that the current economic conditions have focused attention onto home improvements. “Where people can no longer move house, they are looking at ways to optimise the space that they have,” he said.

“At Sliderobes, we create bespoke storage solutions, ideal for bedrooms or living areas. They enable people who are tight on space to make the most of what they have, cost-effectively and stylishly. We employ skilled craftsmen in our workshops, and they create each Sliderobe individually to meet customers’ particular requirements,” he added.

To celebrate the opening, Sliderobes will be presenting a piece of equipment to Butterwick Hospice in Stockton on Tees. The hospice provides specialist palliative care to children and adults with life-limited illnesses within a friendly and homely environment. The Burnett Body Support, donated by Sliderobes, is a sheepskin-covered polyurethane “pouch” which can be moulded to the patient’s body. It is especially valuable where children are unable to sit up unaided to eat and play.

The body support will be presented by Sliderobes’ managing director, Richard McMullan, to Children’s Hospice fundraiser, Steph Wood, at on Wednesday 14th January in an official ribbon cutting event to be held at the showroom.
