Fast-growing fitted wardrobe specialists, Sliderobes, is set to open its first ever store on the south coast at the end of October.

The Irish-based company, which has showrooms across the whole of Ireland as well as much of the UK, is opening on Hedge End Retail Park in Southampton. It will employ a team of seven from the outset.

Mark Smith, manager of the new showroom, explained that the concept is quite different to anything else in the area. As such, he believes, it is a product that is absolutely right for the times.

“The current market conditions mean that many people are looking to improve their homes, rather than move. Products and ideas that help people optimise the space in their homes are in great demand, as a result. In our experience, there are few homes, old or new, that offer sufficient storage space to the modern family,” he said.

Sliderobes has been a successful company in Ireland for 25 years, with a unique concept that centres around optimising every single centimetre of available space.

“On the retail park, we will not only showcase the product – individually designed and created fitted wardrobes with a wide range of door finishes – but we will also have a workshop,” said Mark. “We are employing a skilled team of craftsmen, each with a background in carpentry, and they will hand-build each Sliderobe to customers’ specifications.”

The official opening of Sliderobes’ 21st showroom is 30th October. The management team will be making a presentation to Southampton Hospital’s special care baby unit to mark its move into a new area.

Mark added, “We’re really looking forward to opening the doors at the end of the month. Sliderobes is a very friendly company, and the showroom is somewhere that people can come along and browse. The coffee pot is always on!”
